We both lay on the sofa.
Cuddled into each other.
Watching a late night documentary.
But I am not watching it.
I am only watching you.
Your perfect hair.
Perfect smile.
Perfect everything.
I lean down and kiss your forehead.
You look up into my eyes.
They shine, reflecting the TV.
You sit up, keeping your face close to mine.
I close the gap between us.
At first I kiss you gently but you want more.
I don't mind.
As we embrace each other I think over all the things I love about you.
Too many things to write down.
I kiss down your neck.
You breathe heavily down the back of my neck, making the hairs stand on end.
But I stop.
Why do I not carry on?
I will myself on, wanting more.
But I can't.
I can't move.
I just stare into your eyes.
You slowly fade away to black.
And I wake up.
The only feeling left is the desire to fall back to sleep and hold you again.
But I know this is reality.
I can't change it.
At least not right now.
We are friends.
